Our AI and Data Platform development team has been at the forefront of delivering AI solutions for business travel over the past decade. We are seeking an AI Governance Lead to join us. This role will evolve and strengthen our governance practice, moving beyond traditional data management to oversee the entire AI lifecycle. You will ensure our predictive and generative models are ethical, compliant, and performant, recognizing both data and models as strategic products. In this role, you will collaborate closely with AI Research, Engineering, Legal, and Business stakeholders.
What You'll Do:
- Govern the AI Lifecycle: Define and enforce standards for AI model development, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring clear ownership and accountability for model inputs, logic, and outputs.
- Establish Ethical & Regulatory Frameworks: Develop a robust AI governance framework that addresses algorithmic bias, transparency (Explainable AI), and compliance with emerging global regulations (e.g., EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF).
- Manage "Data for AI" Assets: Oversee the governance of training datasets, ensuring high-quality lineage and labeling standards that promote reliable, non-discriminatory AI outcomes and minimize "hallucinations" in generative applications.
- Monitor Model Trust & Safety: Proactively audit model performance metrics, bias detection reports, and AI governance maturity, providing actionable insights to mitigate risks related to model drift and security.
- Promote AI Literacy & Culture: Design and implement comprehensive training programs that advance AI ethics, prompt engineering best practices, and a culture of responsible innovation across the organization.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s or higher degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, Law & Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience designing and implementing governance frameworks, with at least 2 years specifically focused on AI/ML governance or AI risk management.
- Tooling: Experience with AI governance and observability platforms.
- Technical Breadth: Proven track record in developing AI governance practices, including the creation of Model Cards and Algorithmic Impact Assessments.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills to bridge the gap between AI researchers (technical) and Legal/Compliance teams (regulatory).
- Risk Management: A track record of identifying and mitigating risks in complex environments, specifically regarding LLM security (e.g., prompt injection) and data privacy in AI training.
- Infrastructure: Understanding of cloud-native AI stacks (AWS SageMaker, Azure AI, or Google Vertex AI) to effectively collaborate with MLOps teams.
Preferred Skills:
- Sector Expertise: Experience in travel, transportation, or enterprise technology sectors.
- Advanced AI Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Generative AI lifecycle, including fine-tuning governance, RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback), and vector database management.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as CIPP/AI (Certified Information Privacy Professional/AI) or similar.
- Industry Experience: Travel industry experience beneficial (airline, hotel, online travel companies or other travel-tech companies).
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom
