It is cross-functional, fast-paced and we work on Amex GBT’s most challenging strategic projects, delivering for senior stakeholders.

This role focuses on the ‘Go Big on SME’ and ‘Champion Customer Obsession’ powerplays, giving you exposure to a wide range of functions and the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives that have real bottom-line impact. It's a great opportunity for someone early in their strategy career to build broad commercial and analytical skills while working alongside experienced practitioners.

What you'll do:

  • Support senior colleagues in developing and delivering the organisation's long-term corporate strategy, contributing research, analysis and structured recommendations.
  • Help prepare high-quality presentations, briefing documents and materials for senior leadership and key business stakeholders.
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for departments across the organisation, spanning Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Strategy, Finance, and Product, providing commercial insight and analytical support.
  • Contribute to cross-functional strategic projects, working collaboratively across commercial, operational, and corporate teams under the guidance of a project lead.
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business, developing your ability to influence and communicate effectively in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
  • Help gather and organise customer insights and feedback so they can be embedded into strategy formulation, ensuring our offerings stay aligned with customer needs.
  • Support work to evolve our commercial operating model (people, process, and technology), helping to document current processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial strategy, business planning, go-to-market, or a related analytical role, or a consultancy/graduate scheme background; ideally with exposure to B2B or a similar strategic environment.
  • Good commercial awareness with an ability to turn data and analysis into clear, structured insights.
  • A highly analytical, structured thinker with strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach.
  • Some experience working with stakeholders across different business functions, with a genuine interest in developing your influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • Exposure to, or interest in, cross-functional projects involving people, process, or technology change.
  • A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to manage your own workload and contribute confidently to fast-moving pieces of work.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage colleagues from operational teams through to senior stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with commercial governance frameworks, operating models, or performance dashboards is a plus.
  • An interest in AI, automation, or digital tools for sales and marketing transformation is preferred.
