The University of Lincoln's School of Health and Care Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy to support sustained growth in student numbers and the continued delivery and development of our pre-registration provision. Our MSc Physiotherapy programme has experienced steady and significant growth over recent years, with student recruitment consistently meeting or exceeding targets. This appointment forms part of an approved investment in academic capacity to ensure high-quality teaching, a positive student experience, and continued alignment with Professional Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) expectations.
The role
This post sits on the Teaching, Scholarship and Professional Practice (TSPP) route and is primarily teaching-focused, with a clear expectation of engagement in scholarship and evidence-informed practice.

- Contribute to teaching across the Physiotherapy curriculum, including academic and practice-based learning.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to high-quality teaching and student support.
- Engage with scholarship and evidence-informed practice relevant to Physiotherapy education.
- Contribute to module delivery and assessment under guidance, and work collaboratively within the programme team.
- Show potential and willingness to develop in areas such as curriculum design, scholarship, or leadership over time.
Senior Lecturer
- In addition to the above, we would expect a Senior Lecturer to take a lead role in curriculum design, module leadership, or pedagogic development.
- Bring significant experience in Physiotherapy education and/or advanced professional practice.
- Take a lead role in curriculum design, module leadership, or pedagogic development.
- Demonstrate a sustained and active engagement with scholarship, research-informed teaching, or contribution to the evidence base for the profession.
- Provide academic leadership within the programme, including mentoring or supporting less experienced colleagues.
- Contribute strategically to programme development, quality enhancement, and external engagement where appropriate.
We are keen to appoint an individual who can clearly articulate how they integrate teaching, professional practice, and scholarship, and who are committed to contributing positively to the academic and professional community. The role will also support the School's longer-term development plans, and the planned development of undergraduate provision.
We welcome applications from individuals who are interested in engaging with research and scholarship that informs teaching and may include contributing to a research-informed learning environment, pedagogic innovation, or professional scholarship. The post does not carry expectations in relation to REF outputs, external grant income, or doctoral supervision.
About You
You will be a registered Physiotherapist with relevant professional experience and an interest in higher education teaching. Applications are welcomed from candidates at Lecturer or Senior Lecturer level, and from those seeking flexible working or job-share arrangements, subject to service needs.
