- On a day-to-day basis, you will report to and take instruction from the Lead Staff Assistant and Airport Business Planning Manager.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide a consistently high quality of administrative support.
- Perform a range of administrative duties and be prepared to support the management and frontline team members on a day-to-day basis.
- Engage with team members on matters relating to general employee issues.
- Assist with orientation for new hires into the company, including Heathrow Airport references.
- Communicate any organizational changes with various work groups.
- Maintain an accurate employee car park log.
- Greet external and internal visitors.
- Make hotel/transportation arrangements for visiting AA personnel.
- Create letters and emails in response to customer and employee questions.
- Process invoices from business partners for payment.
- Maintain an accurate personal filing system.
- Order supplies as needed by administrative & operational teams.
- Responsible for receiving and distributing internal and external mail.
- Take and publish minutes from meetings.
- Adhere to and promote safe working practices at all times.
- Assist with any employee engagement events.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties consistent with this posting.
- Have a good telephone manner.
Apprenticeship:
The apprentice program has been developed in partnership with lnspiro Learning and the program will consist of developing skills and knowledge on the job. As an apprentice you will also attend off the job training with lnspiro Learning. The training delivered will consist of a blended approach, E-learning and workshops. You will receive on the job mentoring and coaching from either American Airlines directly or from your lnspiro Learning assessor.
The Apprenticeship Will Consist Of The Following Elements:
- NVQ - assessed on the job by the assessor.
- Technical Certificate - training will be delivered through on and off the job, e-learning to provide the underpinning knowledge to support the NVQ and programme designed.
- Functional Skills - This requires apprentices to obtain a minimum skills level in Mathematics, English and ICT through guidance and examination. Some apprentices with GCSE's A-C in these subjects may be exempt.
- ERR Booklet - Employer Rights and Responsibilities booklet which apprentices are required to complete.
- Enhancements - these elements have been determined by American Airlines and lnspiro Learning as part of the programme design and consists of additional units, short courses, e-learning.

Qualifications Required:
- 5 GCSE's grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent including Maths and English.
Things To Consider:
- A fixed term, 15-month contract.
- Based at London Heathrow.
- Satisfactory results of security checks, including but not limited to Basic Criminal Record Check, Accreditation Check & TSA Watch List (United States Transportation Security Administration Watch List).
- References covering the last five (5) year period.
- Ability to qualify for Heathrow Airport airside access.
- Successful completion of systems training.
