We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year to support middle school students in a collaborative and structured environment. This role includes a combination of co‑teaching in general education classrooms and pull‑out instructional support for students with disabilities.
Start Date: July 23, 2026
End Date: May 21, 2027
Hours: 37.5 per week (7.5 hours per day)
Contract Length: 39 weeks
Setting: Middle School (Supplemental Support)
Caseload: Up to ~33 students
Interview Required: Yes (with school principal)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide differentiated instruction tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion
- Monitor and track student progress and maintain documentation
- Conduct IEP meetings and maintain communication with families and staff
- Support students academically, behaviorally, and socially
Qualifications
- Active South Carolina Special Education Teaching Certification in one of the following: Multi‑Categorical, Behavioral Disabilities, Emotional Disabilities
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
- Knowledge of IDEA compliance and special education regulations
- Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
- Out‑of‑state candidates welcome if eligible for South Carolina licensure reciprocity and have begun the process
