Position Overview: Ameresco provides Project Management and Project Consultancy Services incorporating all elements of a project lifecycle. This is helping us continue our progress toward the clean energy future, which is essential to combating climate change. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with Low voltage skill set and a Building Services background, to join our team and focus on Building services, commercial energy usage, energy savings, and CO2 emission reduction. You would be responsible for working on assignments covering all aspects of CHP, refrigeration, Air Source and Ground Source Heat pumps, HVAC, boilers, compressed air, Solar PV, Wind Turbines schemes.
Responsibilities: The Engineer will be responsible for specific duties as follows:
- Assessment of existing infrastructure and operations at client sites
- Electrical systems design including cable sizing, discrimination studies, earthing design, selection of switchgear, transformers, relay panels
- Ability to produce LV design outputs to BS**** requirements
- Specifying electrical upgrade works to accommodate new installation considering available space, layout, cable sizing, routing constraints, existing infrastructure
- Generating scope of works to obtain costs and Out-line design with costed solution
- Technical write-up to support High Level Assessment (HLA) and Investment Grade Proposals (IGP)
- Scheme Design (Front End Design)
- Further definition of conceptual design, finalise scheme selection and development of Single Line Diagrams, Plant room layouts, cable routing drawings, etc.
- Load assessments, load schedules and Cable sizing
- Equipment specifications and scopes of work
- Technical Support throughout Procurement and Construction process for projects including: Provide technical support to the project implementation team throughout the implementation period produce calculation studies using industry preferred softwares eg Amtech or ElectricalOM
- Advantageous to have design capabilities up to 11kV
- Advantageous to have design and study experience of carrying out earthing, harmonics and G99 related studies
- Able to prepare new electrical supply, upgrade, and G99/G98 applications
- Experience of managing DNO applications
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications: The Engineer should have relevant experience in the specification, design and implementation of Commercial Power systems with a good understanding of BS******th Edition regulations relating to the design of electrical systems. Experience in electrical design for solar PV and BESS systems would be an advantage however is not essential.
