About this Apprenticeship opportunity
Amentum is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Cumbria team as a Control, Electrical & Instrumentation (CE&I) Design Level 3 Apprentice. Based in our Westlakes office (Pillar House), this apprenticeship is ideal for individuals with a strong interest in engineering design who are looking to develop a career within a technical, safety‑critical, and highly regulated environment.
As a CE&I Design Apprentice, you will support the engineering design of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems used in complex industrial facilities. You will work alongside experienced CE&I, gaining exposure to design concepts, calculations, drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation that support safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
Alongside your workplace training, you will complete a Level 3 CE&I Design apprenticeship qualification, combining structured academic learning with practical application. You will develop core engineering knowledge, design skills, and an understanding of industry standards, while building the professional behaviours expected of an engineer. This apprenticeship provides a strong foundation for a future career in CE&I design engineering, offering progression opportunities within Amentum for those who demonstrate commitment, curiosity, and a passion for engineering excellence.

In addition to having the permanent right to work in the UK, you are also required to have been ordinarily resident in the UK, the British Overseas Territories, or Crown Dependencies (Channel Islands and Isle of Man) for at least the previous three years before the start and for the duration of the apprenticeship.

The duration of this apprenticeship will be: 54 months
