The Opportunity: Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.

The Role: We are now recruiting a Project Director to join the team in Warrington or Cumbria. As a Project Director your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a major PPP project with an approximate value of ~ £700m, with overall accountability for successful delivery and performance.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing project delivery team, effectively deploying resources to meet project and customer demands.
  • Provide strong governance and leadership throughout the Sellafield gated project lifecycle.
  • Provide senior leadership across PPP and contribute as a member of the PPP Leadership Team.
  • Embed the PPP Way and promote a culture of safe, predictable and commercially successful delivery.
  • Shape delivery strategies aligned to Sellafield’s key targets, milestones and programme priorities.
  • Build trusted relationships with customers and delivery partners, representing Amentum in senior discussions and performance reviews.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction, Project Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience, with Chartered status (ChPP, APM or equivalent).
  • Significant Project Director-level experience leading major, complex engineering, infrastructure or EPC(M) programmes and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong commercial and delivery capability, including contract management, project controls, governance and performance.
  • Proven senior leadership and client-facing experience, with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence key stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead effectively within a complex, matrix organisation, with flexibility to travel to customer and project locations as required.
