Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver approximately £7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
The SIXEP Continuity Plant, being delivered by the Programme and Project Partners (PPP) at Sellafield, will ensure the site's existing Site Ion Exchange Effluent Plant (SIXEP) facility can continue its vital work for decades to come. The newbuild SCP facility will play a vital part in Sellafield's purpose to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.
Within the SCP project, a design package is underway to cover the mechanical design of a shielded piping system including pipes, supports, radiological shielding, valves, valve spindle extensions, actuators, and a through-wall gamma monitor assembly. The drawings currently being produced include detailed drawings (for manufacture), general assembly drawings and installation drawings. These drawings will all be compliant with the latest revision of BS EN 8888. As a key member of the project team, you will be responsible for checking all the mechanical drawings prior to their release for manufacture.
What you will need:
- Proven, recent, track record of checking GA and detailed “level 3” manufacturing maturity mechanical drawings to BS EN 8888. (The latest version is preferable, but not essential).
- Experience of working within a highly regulated industry, ideally gained within the nuclear industry.
- Conversant with the relevant engineering standards for delivery of high integrity piping installations and associated equipment.
- Familiar with nuclear containment and shielding principles/design.
- Working knowledge of Geometrical product specifications (GPS) to ISO 8015 and welding to BS EN ISO 2553.
- Checking engineering documentation such as risk assessments, outline installation method statements, calculations and operation & maintenance manuals.
