About the Opportunity

Our Energy Division is leading to support positive change and help shape the future of Clean Energy. Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are seeking to expand our team on a variety of clean energy projects, which range in technologies and that find themselves at different stages of their development. We are seeking to continuously employ talented individuals to join our diverse team that are excited about nuclear projects and are committed to Net Zero and Energy Security.

In both client-facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high-quality solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively. We are recruiting for Programme Managers to support key project deliverables across our Energy Programmes portfolio. The initial roles will be leading on c£1bn major civils projects where you will be responsible for safely delivering projects to time, quality, and budget whilst collaboratively driving contractor performance to ready the sites for the main construction phases. These initial positions will be based in the South-East of England and will require a commitment to being on sites or in the offices between 4-5 days per week.

Ideally, you will have a track record of successfully delivering large-scale civil infrastructure projects (such as highways, rail, marine) in the construction delivery phase. These roles offer long-term career potential, with opportunities to lead future project phases or transition onto other major programmes where we are a key delivery partner.

  • Leading the establishment of strong and enduring relationships with the customer, partners, supply chain, and stakeholders to ensure strategy delivery and position for future opportunities.
  • Creating an outcome-focused culture that provides value solutions to ensure customer success.
  • Working with the wider Amentum business to create, shape, and deliver innovative value-adding solutions for our Clients.
  • Proposing and implementing innovative value propositions in the market that support customer strategy and differentiate from the competition.
  • Shaping customer thinking and supporting customers' change programmes.

Here’s What You’ll Need

  • Educated to degree level with Civil Engineering.
  • Effective commercial/contract management and negotiation skills, with clear knowledge of best practice contract methodologies.
  • Success in delivering large-scale civil infrastructure projects (such as highways, rail, marine) in the construction delivery phase.
  • Leadership, collaborative, and team working skills.
  • A considerable track record of successful contract negotiations and effective contract administration.
  • Experienced in Contractor Management and Supply Chain.
  • Highly developed commercial skills and demonstrable ability to make sound decisions on matters of significant financial value.
  • Track record with most common Forms of Contract (NEC & FIDIC) within the power construction industry and major projects and programme environment.
  • Good understanding of the UK legal and regulatory framework.
  • Experienced at operating at senior levels; comfortable in managing internal and external stakeholders effectively at an executive/senior level.
  • Commercial management and oversight on major nuclear programmes (£100m-£30Bn).
