An opening has become available in the Robotics and Remote handling Team at Amentum for an enthusiastic and eager to learn Software Systems Engineer. The successful applicant will join a growing team of engineers who specialise in developing, building and deploying robotic systems for solving clients’ challenges such as maintenance and inspection activities in challenging environments across a number of industrial sectors.
The key focus of the role is to provide low level software capability required at the heart of robotic and mechatronic systems. As part of the robotics software team the successful candidate will work on exciting R&D projects alongside other engineers and receive a mix of formal training and mentorship from more experienced members of the team.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- Experience with software development (C, C++) including for embedded devices (Arduino, Pico).
- Experience with communication interfaces (e.g. serial, i2c, can).
- Familiar with networking (e.g. TCP/IP, DDS, Websockets).
- Familiar working with hardware (e.g. robots, motor control, sensors).
- Familiar with software development processes (e.g. git).
