The Site Storeman is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools and equipment on-site. This role ensures that inventory is accurately tracked, securely stored and readily available to support site operations efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and record deliveries of materials and equipment.
- Organise and maintain the store area to ensure cleanliness, safety and accessibility.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the relevant departments.
- Issue tools, equipment and materials to site personnel as required.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or digital systems.
- Coordinate with suppliers and site teams to ensure timely delivery and dispatch.
- Conduct regular stock checks and audits.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the storage area.
- Assist with loading/unloading and transportation of goods when necessary.
- Report damaged or faulty items and arrange for replacements or repairs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a storekeeping or warehouse role, preferably in a site-based environment.
- Good organisational and time‑management skills.
- Basic IT skills for inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
- Forklift licence or other relevant certifications (desirable).
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Working Conditions
