The Site Storeman is responsible for managing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials, tools and equipment on-site. This role ensures that inventory is accurately tracked, securely stored and readily available to support site operations efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect and record deliveries of materials and equipment.
  • Organise and maintain the store area to ensure cleanliness, safety and accessibility.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the relevant departments.
  • Issue tools, equipment and materials to site personnel as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using manual logs or digital systems.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and site teams to ensure timely delivery and dispatch.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the storage area.
  • Assist with loading/unloading and transportation of goods when necessary.
  • Report damaged or faulty items and arrange for replacements or repairs.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a storekeeping or warehouse role, preferably in a site-based environment.
  • Good organisational and time‑management skills.
  • Basic IT skills for inventory management systems.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
  • Forklift licence or other relevant certifications (desirable).
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures.

Working Conditions

  • Based on‑site, may involve working outdoors or in varying weather conditions.
  • May require wearing PPE and adhering to site safety protocols.
  • Physical work including lifting, carrying and standing for extended periods.
