We are seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to support nuclear power programme delivery across the UK and Europe. The role focuses on managing commercial and procurement activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and to high quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of strategy and the subsequent implementation of all commercial and procurement activities.
- Manage commercial negotiations in major public sector competitions.
- Oversee all aspects of negotiating, agreeing, researching, and compiling complex business investments.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the wider NPP Commercial function and the project team on all commercial and procurement activities.
- Define, agree and implement commercial principles consistently throughout complex documents and processes.
- Plan and manage technical consistency readiness reviews across a cross‑functional team.
- Manage commercial issues on projects covered by European public procurement directives and International, European and state nuclear regulations.
- Implement nuclear safety and nuclear quality procedures.
- Maintain ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Senior Commercial Manager, with a track record in major projects.
- Experience with FIDIC and NEC 3/4 contract suites and knowledge of UK law as it applies to contracts and commercial functions.
- Strong understanding of procurement, contract performance measurement, risk, change, and claim management.
- Ability to work across multiple disciplines to develop, implement, and operate commercial strategies and contractual agreements.
- Demonstrated big‑picture thinking and the ability to innovate commercial delivery approaches for project benefit.
- Membership of a professional body such as RICS, CICES, IOB, CIPS, or equivalent is desirable.
