Overview Amentum is recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join our Nuclear Power Engineering and Technical Services team supporting our key client EDF Energy Nuclear Generation with their nuclear fleet in the UK. This is a key role within our project and engineering portfolio, spread across our UK network at all sites and stations. You will be supported and mentored by experienced project engineering management professionals and provided training to develop your project engineering management and leadership skills on larger, more complex projects.We employ the UK\’s most experienced and skilled technical services professionals and have grown to over 8,000 people. Key responsibilities Producing and maintaining engineering documentation including quality plans and technical specificationsManagement of technical queries in accordance with relevant processes and proceduresSupporting the process of contractor selection and contract placementTechnical reviews of contractor documents and drawingsCarrying out technical appraisals of project optionsPerforming feasibility studies, site surveys and liaison with designers and station engineering staff as requiredPrepare Engineering Changes and manage the preparation of supporting and affected documentsCommissioning documents and act as test team leader where appropriateSupporting the Project Manager and Construction Manager in managing the project to ensure work is carried out safely, on time and effectively
Qualifications – External Typically Chartered Engineer or HNDSite Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualificationFormal project management qualification and familiarity with modern project management techniques preferred but not essentialExperience identifying, implementing and complying with safety, environmental and quality standards, procedures and regulatory requirementsKnowledge and experience delivering construction projects under CDMStrong communication and organisational skillsBackground of working at Power Stations and Nuclear Licensed Sites is preferred but not essential; familiar with highly regulated environments with high safety standards
