Within the defence sector, Amentum has an essential role in the UK’s continuous at‑sea deterrent. We’re also active in naval infrastructure and shipbuilding, and in procurement and operational delivery across the whole of the UK Ministry of Defence. Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking Principal CS&A Engineers to join our team; these positions support hybrid working and can be based across our office network within the UK - Stockton, Newcastle, Bristol, Gloucester, Glasgow, Westlakes and Warrington.
Principal CS&A Engineer Responsibilities
- Leading a team of CS&A engineers and architects in the definition, implementation and delivery of specified functional works that achieves safety, functional and business requirements.
- Key role holder within the Engineering team on the project.
- Delivery of the civil, structural, and architectural design.
- Manage the interface to and between key Delivery Partners and the design team.
- Understanding of the commercial implications of products, scope and packages.
- Delivery of substantiation and other approvals.
- Risk identification with proposed resolution / mitigation.
- Production of Schedule and identification of key milestones.
- Develop deliverables list and format (drawings, specifications, reports, BIM etc.).
Here’s What You’ll Need
- Higher Education Qualification in Engineering (or equivalent) subject - MEng (preferred).
- Appropriate (Engineering or Scientific) Institution Membership - Chartered Engineer.
- Background engineering experience demonstrating a record of successful delivery, including recent positions influencing professional engineers and guiding technical personnel.
- Experience of working within a regulated and quality assured system (preferably nuclear) in roles where professional judgement is the key attribute.
