You will be working on projects across our Energy, Environment, Defence and Technology divisions to solve the most pressing problems that our society face. As part of your team, you will be actively involved in all stages of the project life-cycle from establishing a set of client requirements, developing a concept, basic and detailed design, which can include producing drawings, calculations and design documentation as well as getting involved in research, procurement of equipment, testing, installation and commissioning.

We are actively involved in nuclear new build, design of the next generation of nuclear reactors (both fission and fusion reactors), supporting the UK operational nuclear fleet, nuclear decommissioning, and nuclear propulsion.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have completed an undergraduate or master's degree in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering by summer 2026.

  • Analytical Thinking: Comfortable working with data, identifying risks, and solving problems creatively.

  • Initiative & Curiosity: Eager to take ownership, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to grow.
  • Digital skills: Understanding of digital platforms and how they can be applied to solve physics problems is also beneficial.
  • Customer Focus: This is a consultancy role so experience of working with customers is also beneficial - not necessarily in an engineering role, other roles such as retail or hospitality would be suitable too.
  • Flexibility: A willingness to try engaging in new skill areas or potentially travel to our client sites.
  • A strong interest to work in the nuclear industry.

You must be:

  • A flexible self-starter, who is keen to drive their career forward.
  • Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.

Our Graduate Programme assumes that participants are commencing their first professional role post-graduation. To qualify for our Graduate Programme, you must therefore have:

  • Completed your first degree no earlier than the summer of 2024.
  • Not worked in a similar professional role since graduation.
  • Achieved a minimum 2:2 in your first degree.

Selection Process:

  • Step 1: Apply Online.
  • Step 2: Successful candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment.
  • Step 3: Those who are selected will be invited to a final face to face interview with our operations teams.
  • Step 4: Selected candidates will be offered an opportunity to join Amentum Graduate Programme in September 2026.
