Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the U.S. government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an MSC Riding Gang Supervisor to support a unique U.S. Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary supervisor for Riding Gang personnel performing maintenance, preservation, repair, and operational support aboard MSC vessels.
- Coordinate daily work assignments, schedules, and task execution for multi‑trade Riding Gang teams while vessels are underway or in port.
- Oversee preservation, mechanical, structural, and general maintenance activities in accordance with MSC, Navy, and industry standards.
- Ensure proper use of tools, materials, PPE, and equipment, maintaining accountability and readiness of all assigned gear.
- Inspect completed work for quality, safety, and compliance with technical specifications and mission requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation related to Riding Gang operations, labor hours, material usage, and safety compliance.
- Support onboarding, training, and safety briefings for Riding Gang personnel.
- Coordinate with ship leadership, engineering teams, and Amentum management to align Riding Gang activities with vessel maintenance schedules and operational priorities.
- Ensure all maintenance and preservation activities comply with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide regular updates to leadership regarding project progress, personnel status, and operational impacts.
Minimum Requirements
- 3 years of experience in shipboard maintenance, preservation, repair operations, or related maritime fields.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in marine maintenance, preservation, or technical trades preferred.
- Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally. Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date.
- Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of assignment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience supporting MSC, maritime operations, shipboard maintenance, or Riding Gang programs.
- Familiarity with Navy maintenance standards, preservation requirements, and shipboard operational procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience supervising multi‑trade maintenance crews in shipboard or industrial environments.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain country‑specific visas per the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
