About the opportunity: Energy, Engineering and Technical Services is one of our newest Business Units and has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Energy Power station. Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Amentum are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Equipment Contracts Engineering Lead who will provide contractual and technical oversight of the contract(s), including the management and coordination of Technical Engineering Leads for each contract and managing the resolution of open points related to Design, Manufacturing and Qualification. You will be also responsible for keeping the contract at the configuration compliant with the project progress.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Leading contract technical and project meetings
- Technical surveillance and resolution of issues/queries
- Review and approval of contractor deliverables and design where necessary
- Control and Management of the evolution of the contract and design changes
- Review and approval of contract amendments and exemptions (CTSs, ERs)
- Manage the contract Technical leads (TLS) and associated delivery scope, including task prioritisation
- Resource planning to ensure the requirements of the contract are met to time, cost, schedule and quality
- Management of stakeholders, such as: Liaise with Responsible Designer (RD) and client teams to ensure integration of equipment with interfacing functions/systems
- Liaise with Responsible Designer (RD) and client management teams to communicate progress, risks, issues and planning to support contract delivery.
- Form close working relationship with HPC counterparts to support and execute SZC contract replication principles
- Reporting of KPls to the SZC Equipment Management Team
- Ensure qualification activities are progressing accordingly to the contract progress and site needs.
- Help to upskill other members of the team, including other less experienced CELs
Qualifications & skills required:
- Master's degree or equivalent in an Engineering or Scientific Discipline.
- Understanding of the EPR or general PWR design
- Knowledge and experience in Nuclear Mechanical Equipment Design, Manufacture and Operations
- Technical background on process & pressure mechanical equipment: pumps, filters, heaters, equipment packages, lifting/handling and access
- Understanding of Equipment interfaces (safety case, systems engineering)
- CDM Contract management and documentary surveillance
- Experience using change-management, commercial and deliverable management systems (UKDC, UKICM, OPM, CEMAR, Teamcenter) is advantageous
- IT literate
