Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a NGIS Warehouse Specialist to support a unique US Navy program based on the island of Diego Garcia.
Job Summary
Responsible for technical repair and maintenance of organization automobiles, trucks and heavy machinery.
Principal Accountabilities
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Troubleshoots, orders parts and repairs mechanical problems on automobiles and heavy machinery.
- Performs assigned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance repairs.
- Instructs mechanics on all required vehicle inspection methods and analyses returned reports.
- Makes recommendations on maintenance required and changes needed.
- Performs expert level technical troubleshooting and repair work.
- Analyses the safety of equipment and recommends design modifications.
- Performs quality checks on work in progress and upon completion.

Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrate ability to direct the activities of others.
- Skilled in the use of a variety of test equipment.
- Ability to interpret and apply manufacturers repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics and engineering drawings and diagnostic codes.
Experience & Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Typically five (5) plus years experience in a mechanic role.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable. Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions. Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Travel
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
