About the opportunity: Nuclear Power Programmes has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power. Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are seeking to expand our team on a variety of nuclear projects, which range in technologies and that find themselves at different stages of their development. To do this, we are seeking to continuously employ talented individuals to join our diverse team that are excited about nuclear projects and are committed to Net Zero and Energy Security.

In both client-facing and internal roles, we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high-quality, and timely solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

Amentum are recruiting for a Risk Manager to support the Sizewell C Project. The purpose of the role is to support risk management within a local programme assisting with compliance and to genuinely help safeguard the programme area from major overruns.

Deliverables:

  • Develop and Manage Project/Programme Risk Registers
  • Lead the identification and development of risk mitigation and/or action plans with the Project/Programme Risk Teams
  • Contribute to developing and maintaining the Risk management Strategy/Plan/Culture
  • Engage in progressing Risk Management function and risk management discipline within the business
  • Conduct Qualitative & Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) on the Integrated Works Schedule and advise Programme Directors of key areas of Risk to allow for mitigative actions
  • Organise and Facilitate workshops of large numbers of Project Managers to ensure all Risks are captured
  • Work with other Risk Managers to ensure Risks are not duplicated across other Programmes

Skills:

  • Demonstrable use of numerical and verbal communication skills within a business environment
  • Membership of one or more risk or project management organisation e.g. APM, PMI, IRM, CERA or a suitable equivalent
  • Understanding of scheduling methodologies in project/programme management, including hands-on experience of leading software packages (Oracle P6/Microsoft Project or similar planning tools)
  • Being comfortable with quantitative analysis and advanced forecasting i.e. Monte-Carlo methods, probabilistic forecasting, and optimisation
  • Experience of developing large data models (QSRA/QCRA etc) and their integration into decision-making processes
  • Understanding of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks and standards

Desirable / optional:

  • Working knowledge of SAFRAN Risk
  • Experience with use and deployment of Active Risk Manager (Riskonnect ARM)
  • Ability to run advanced data analysis in Excel (large data sets, integrations with data lakes and PowerBI)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft PowerBI
  • Ability to develop and document process and procedures
