About the Opportunity
The Quality Lead will provide dedicated quality assurance leadership for the SGF project at Barrow. This role serves as the primary QA authority on the project, ensuring that all QA and QC activities are delivered to the required standards. The Quality Lead will guide, support, and oversee the work of all QA and QC personnel assigned to the project, ensuring alignment with project objectives, regulatory requirements, and internal quality processes. The position reports directly to the Quality Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the QA/QC team across all project phases
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to inspectors, engineers, and subcontractors
- Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Procedures
- Ensure all work adheres to applicable codes (e.g., ASME, ISO, BS, EN standards)
- Maintain accurate and auditable quality records
- Produce regular quality reports, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Ensure full traceability and document control through the project lifecycle
- Support compilation of final turnover dossiers and lifetime quality records (LQRs)
What You'll Need
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory QA/QC role
- Knowledge of industry standards (ASME, ISO, BS/EN)
- Experience with auditing and quality management systems
- Significant experience in QA/QC
- Lead Auditor qualification (ISO 9001) (Desirable)
- Certifications such as CSWIP, PCN, or equivalent in welding/NDT inspection (Desirable)
