The Document Controller is responsible for the management, control, and assurance of project and operational documentation within a regulated nuclear environment. This role ensures that all documentation is accurate, traceable, compliant with nuclear safety and security standards, and available to project teams, regulators, and stakeholders in line with strict quality and governance requirements.
About the Opportunity
Amentum is a key delivery partner within the Decommissioning and Nuclear Waste Partners (DNWP) Framework, a major Sellafield programme worth up to £4.6 billion and running for up to 15 years. The framework focuses on safely accelerating decommissioning, remediation, and high‑hazard risk reduction across one of the most complex nuclear sites in the world. Our nuclear team supports the front‑end design, engineering, technical leadership and delivery expertise required across the DNWP portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Expediting and coordinating information in line with demanding programmes
- Ensuring all documentation is managed in compliance with processes, policies and procedures
- Providing support with regard to document numbering, revisions and the application of metadata
- Receiving, issuing and controlling project documentation
- Checking compliance and quality of documents
- Attending project meetings to provide support and address any issues to ensure the effective flow of documentation
- Providing Data Management System training where necessary
- Liaising and supporting the supply chain
- Co‑ordinating with other departments to ensure the information being processed complies with their requirements for handover
- Updating project documentation trackers
- Maintaining Projects filing (ProjectWise)
- Providing support to the Document Control Manager
Here’s What You’ll Need
- Experience as a Document Controller within a highly regulated environment
- GCSE Grade C / 4 or above in Maths, English, Science, Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Ability and commitment to working towards CQI Foundation Certificate in Quality Management
- ISO 9001 awareness (desirable)
- Knowledge of various Electronic Data Management Systems
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with sensitive information in a secure and compliant manner
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Team‑focused, collaborative and professional
- Ability to obtain Sellafield BPSS security clearance and P4 pass
- Working towards Affiliate Member of CQI
