About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power.

Operational throughout the UK and across continental Europe, we are seeking to expand our team on a variety of nuclear projects, which range in technologies and that find themselves at different stages of their development.

To do this, we are seeking to continuously employ talented individuals to join our diverse team that are excited about nuclear projects and are committed to Net Zero, and Energy Security.

In both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle.

We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for the commercial management of contracts throughout the full lifecycle, from procurement and contract award through to delivery and final account close-out.

Acting as the primary commercial contact, the role supports contract performance, governance, supplier relationships, risk management, and commercial outcomes across the Sizewell C project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial aspects of assigned contracts from pre-award to close-out.
  • Support procurement activities including ITTs, tender evaluations, negotiations, and contract award.
  • Administer NEC/FIDIC contracts, including change control, claims, risks, and commercial reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier, contractor, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with SZC governance processes and business objectives.
  • Produce commercial dashboards, reports, and contract records.
  • Support and develop Supply Chain Assistants.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Legal, Project Controls, and Delivery teams.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong commercial and contract management experience on major projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC and FIDIC contracts.
  • Experience with procurement, negotiation, contract administration, claims, and risk management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Sound financial and commercial decision-making capability.
  • Understanding of UK regulatory and construction environments.
  • Experience working in highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, energy, infrastructure, or construction is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified (preferred) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction, Engineering, or similar.
  • Working towards or holding membership of RICS, CICES, or CIOB (preferred).
