Job Overview: We are seeking a Joiner who will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of joinery and carpentry tasks across the Sellafield site, ensuring all work is completed safely, to a high standard of quality, and in full compliance with site-specific nuclear, safety, and regulatory requirements. This role is Temporary - Weekly paid - Fully on-site.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out first and second fix joinery works.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, method statements, and specifications.
  • Work within live and controlled environments, following strict permit-to-work systems.
  • Ensure all work meets required quality, safety, and nuclear site standards.
  • Comply with Sellafield Ltd policies, site rules, and behavioural expectations.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Identify and report defects, hazards, and near misses.
  • Work collaboratively with other trades, supervisors, and site teams.
  • Support site inspections and quality checks when required.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all Health & Safety at Work regulations and Sellafield Life Saving Rules.
  • Follow RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) at all times.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inductions.
  • Maintain a strong nuclear safety culture and human performance standards.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as a joiner on commercial or industrial sites.
  • Ability to work accurately from drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety requirements.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • Ability to pass security clearance and site vetting.
  • CSCS Skilled Worker Card.
  • Experience working under permit systems.
  • Aware of nuclear safety culture or high-hazard environments.
  • Experience of installing & maintaining fire doors (FIRAS accredited or similar).
