Job Overview: We are seeking experienced Instrument Pipefitters to join our team working on industrial and commercial projects across the UK. The role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of instrument piping systems, typically in sectors such as oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation, and manufacturing. This role is Temporary - Weekly paid - Fully on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and maintain instrument piping systems including stainless steel tubing and small bore pipework.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and isometric diagrams.
- Fabricate and fit pipework using techniques such as threading, welding, brazing, and compression fittings (e.g., Swagelok).
- Conduct pressure testing and ensure systems meet safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers and other trades on-site to ensure timely and accurate installation.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and adhere to health and safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter, ideally with a focus on instrumentation.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Pipefitting or Mechanical Engineering.
- Familiarity with industrial standards and practices (e.g., BS, ISO).
- Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
- CSCS or JIB card (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel and work on various sites across the UK.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Swagelok or similar compression fittings.
- Knowledge of hazardous area installations and ATEX compliance.
- Additional certifications in welding or pressure testing.
