We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrument Technician to join our engineering or manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing instrumentation and control systems used in industrial processes. This role is critical to ensuring the safe and efficient operation of equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair instrumentation and control systems (electronic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical).
- Calibrate and test instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and analytical devices.
- Diagnose faults and troubleshoot issues to restore equipment functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, calibration, and repairs.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure optimal system performance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Participate in preventative maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or utilities environment.
- Strong understanding of instrumentation principles and control systems.
