Amentum is launching a UK Graduate Programme that will begin in September 2026. This role will give you the chance to work on complex engineering projects across Defence, Energy, Nuclear Clean‑up and Advanced Technology, turning your university learning into real‑world impact.

Programme Overview

The programme is structured to cover the full engineering life‑cycle – from research and optimisation to design, analysis, testing and commissioning. You will mentor support, hands‑on experience on live projects and a pathway to professional registration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical systems and remote handling equipment.
  • Apply thermodynamics, material science and pressure‑system design to practical projects.
  • Conduct research, optimisation, design, analysis, testing and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and integrate ideas across specialisms.
  • Document engineering solutions and maintain design records.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Completed an undergraduate or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent subject by summer 2026.
  • Minimum 2:2 in your first degree.
  • Strong communication and the ability to engage with technical and non‑technical personnel.
  • Problem‑solving aptitude with attention to detail and interest in mechanical systems.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organisation and time‑management skills.
  • Eager to take ownership, ask questions and seek out opportunities to grow.
