Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
The SNM Future State Programme will deliver capabilities to ensure the right material is in the right package, in the right store to maintain the safe and secure storage of plutonium. To deliver the programme mission there are several tranches that must be delivered. The SNM Future Storage tranche will focus on providing additional modern standard, resilient storage capacity to store 100 Year Packages until the final disposition solution is implemented.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer your responsibilities will include:
- Production of deliverables for electrical systems such as small power distribution, lighting, earthing, fire and security systems.
- Management of electrical design configuration baseline in response to developing project requirements and design information from the supply chain.
- Checking and reviewing electrical design deliverables to programme deadlines and to appropriate relevant standards, codes, and regulations.
- Working with the supply chain, supporting design aspects of contracts in ensuring suppliers meet client Engineering Standards, responding to Technical Queries.
- To integrate and coordinate the above electrical systems into the wider project, via Building Interface Modelling (BIM), working with the other engineering and non-technical disciplines.
- Ensuring that throughout remaining phases of the project lifecycle, the electrical design intent is aligned to safety case requirements (nuclear and conventional) and ensuring all functional requirements are met, ensuring Validation and Verification is adequately managed.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will have:
- BEng/MEng degree or HND/HNC in a relevant field, or demonstrable equivalent experience.
- Professionally registered or be working towards professional registration.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role, previous Nuclear experience is highly desirable though not essential providing that suitable experience can be demonstrated.
- Evidence of their design competence through previous work and projects.
- Conversant with Trimble ProDesign / Amtech.
