Amentum’s UK Defence business has a number of exciting opportunities within the training needs analysis field to support our UK MOD client in the development of their capabilities to defend our nation and provide support to our allies around the globe. We now seek a Defence Training Manager to provide Training Lines of Development (TLoD) support to MoD Projects, Defence Teams and Users. The role holder will be a skilled Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) specialist and Practitioner to conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA); provide TLoD support to Acquisition, Organisational development; conduct HR Capability development pipeline design; create the Management of Training System; and conduct supporting Training Management activities and Assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- As specialists in the 'Defence Systems Approach to Training’, influence, shape and drive Innovation within Project and Programme TLoDs.
- Ensure that, in partnership with industry, new specialisms, fires and equipment enter service adequately supported by the right training.
- Iaw JSP 822 Policy and supporting guidance, conduct, coordinate and manage Training Needs Analysis to establish economies of scale and safe systems of training for Defence.
- Iaw JSP 822 Policy and supporting guidance, conduct, coordinate and manage design and development of efficient, effective and safe HR Capability development pipelines and VfM packages for Defence.
- Ensure cohesion and economies of scale with other Project training design teams and TLoDs.
- Iaw JSP 822 and supporting guidance, create, coordinate and manage auditable Management of Training systems and supporting DSAT documentation and governance.
- Support the continuous development of Project Team individuals, teams and organisation to deliver effective, efficient and Value for Money career development for technical staff.
Here’s What You’ll Need
Essential Experience/Qualifications
- Expertise in management and governance of Defence Safe Systems of Training (SSoT) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Level 7 CIPD accredited qualification in adult education and/or training, e.g. PgCert, PgCE, PgDip or Masters.
- Qualified in Training Needs Analysis (TNA), Role Analysis, Defence Training Design and Assurance as per JSP 822.
- Defence TNA practitioner experience at the project level.
- Possession of an NQF Level 6 Project Management qualification or higher, such as the Association for Project Management Project Fundamentals Qualification (APM PFQ) or PRINCE2 certification.
- Proficient in Risk Management, including identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks.
- Skilled in Planning and Scheduling for efficient project timelines.
- Strong in Stakeholder Engagement, building collaborative relationships.
Desirable experience/Qualifications
- DSAT within the Acquisition System intermediate knowledge and experience, including CADMID Cycle and MoD KiD Foundation level.
- Training analysis role at Programme level within the Acquisition System.
- MoR (Management of Risk) Practitioner or equivalent certification.
- TEL and/or Synthetics training specialist.
- Experience of supporting the Safety Case.
