Responsibilities
- Promoting the role of Quality and helping to foster a quality culture where everyone realises their role in quality, ensuring that our products, people, processes and services meet or exceed their stated requirements.
- Act as a Responsible Weld Co-ordinator for welding activities within the division.
- Maintain and develop the weld capability within the technology division.
- Champion knowledge sharing and continuous improvement to ensure consistent application of quality best practices across the business unit.
- Act as a local point of contact to provide expertise on relevant topics such as Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Audits, Non-Conformance Reporting and others as required.
- Support the generation and application of digital tools for efficient monitoring, reporting and management of quality metrics.
- Support the division’s internal audit schedule, undertaking internal audits to ensure effective implementation of the division’s management system ensuring client expectations, external certifications (e.g. 9001:2015) and external accreditations (e.g. 17020:2012) are being achieved.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure proactive identification and resolution of quality issues.
- Support project governance activities, providing quality oversight of technical laboratory based activities and rig based manufacturing activities.
- Support the division with activities relating to gaining EN 1090 accreditation.
Qualifications
- Ability to obtain SC level Security Clearance.
- Good communication skills and ability to negotiate and influence others including building and maintaining effective relationships across the technology division.
- HNC / HND / Degree qualified or relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience of acting as a Responsible Weld Co‑ordinator.
- Demonstrable experience and understanding of the Quality function, supporting large projects / programmes within highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrable experience of undertaking and reporting internal audits.
- Demonstrable experience in dealing with non-conformities.
- Demonstrable understanding of Project documentation arrangements, particularly the application of quality control plans.
- Proficient in standard computer programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Team player with ability to coach and mentor others as required.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise in order to meet deadlines as is necessary.
- Willingness to travel offsite as may be occasionally required.
- Strong ethos relating to Health Safety and Wellbeing.
- Security cleared to SC level.
- Previous experience in use of JPI / SharePoint.
- Previous experience of working in a highly regulated industry.
- Appropriate academic qualification.
- Membership of a relevant professional body.
- Auditor Training to 9001:2015 (internal).
- Knowledge of ISO 17020:2012.
- Knowledge of ISO 1090.
- Knowledge of NDE testing techniques.
- Mechanical Engineering awareness.
- Understanding and appreciation of the principles and Standards relating to Health, Safety, Environment, Quality and Security as applicable to working within a highly regulated Nuclear environment.
