As Field Engineer on the Hinkley Point C project, you will oversee quality surveillance and ensure Works meet contract and safety standards. You will collaborate with the site team, report to the Construction Superintendent, and contribute to KPI-driven quality and process improvements. Your role supports timely, safe, and compliant construction, helping deliver low-carbon energy at scale. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position in a safety-and quality-focused culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Check Works for conformance with the contract and flag non-conformances to the Construction Superintendent.
- Submit non-conformance details to assist issuing non-conformance reports.
- Maintain proactive communication with site teams and report surveillance activity.
- Contribute surveillance data to KPI indicators.
- Identify potential quality issues early to enable mitigations.
- Assist in implementing temporary measures to maintain safety and quality.
- Ensure design decisions are formally approved and not decided in the field.
- Support the team with insights on current and future site activities.
- Develop tasks that meet health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Maintain and understand construction drawings, QC Plans, and Quality Inspection Records.
- Ensure Quality Inspection Records are completed before works are covered up.
- Review Contractor performance against the Quality Control Plan.
Key Requirements:
- A minimum of HND in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent vocational training and experience.
- Broad knowledge of building industry, materials, trades methods and legal requirements.
- Excellent organisation, delegation and communication skills.
- Proven diary writing skills with accuracy and relevance to contract form.
- Proven track record in large construction teams.
