About the opportunity: Join the Sizewell C megaproject, contributing to a major low-carbon nuclear new build. This role sits within the Engineering & Technical function, overseeing technical requirements, design delivery, assurance, and coordination of ancillary civil works across the programme lifecycle. You will define and validate technical requirements, lead technical assurance, manage design changes, and coordinate multi-disciplinary interfaces. The role ensures compliance with engineering processes and supports delivery of fully coordinated civil designs across the Ancillary Works scope.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and validate SZC technical requirements and specifications.
- Support Design Technical Assurance (including digital) to enable SZC acceptance.
- Ensure all design deliverables are fully coordinated, including within 3D environments.
- Provide technical input into Early Warnings, Compensation Events, TQs and supply chain communications.
- Integrate construction methodology and site logistics into design requirements.
- Manage technical interfaces (Site Establishment, Offsite Infrastructure, NI Programme, CIBOP, SZB).
- Ensure compliance with SZC engineering/design processes and CDM duties.
- Support delivery of design to contract schedules and the integrated work schedule (IWS).
- Perform surveillance, manage open points and risks, maintain risk registers.
Here's What You'll Need:
Essential
- Strong experience across concept to construction stage for heavy civils, ground engineering, drainage, utilities, earthworks, structures, and/or external works.
- Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; Chartered or working towards.
- Skilled in design integration and managing multi-disciplinary technical delivery.
- Knowledge of UK design standards and RIBA Plan of Work.
- Experience in high-safety or regulated environments.
- Strong stakeholder communication.
Desirable
- Familiarity with EPR nuclear design and NEC contracts.
- Experience with engineering management systems and documentation workflows.
- Experience in major/complex projects, ideally nuclear (e.g., HPC).
