About the opportunity: Energy Programmes is one of our newest Business Units and has been formed with the vision to support positive change and help shape the future of Nuclear Power. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Energy Power station.
Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.
Amentum are currently looking to recruit an Assistant Document Controller / General Administrator who will provide day-to-day document control and administrative support to the team. This role is suitable for an individual who will be trained to manage documents, maintain records, and support general office and project administration in a controlled and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities will be:
- Assist with the receipt, registration, issue, and filing of project and business documents
- Maintain document registers, trackers, and records in line with company procedures
- Support the upload, distribution, and archiving of documents within document management systems
- Carry out basic quality checks on documents (naming, formatting, version control)
- Ensure documents are stored correctly and are easily retrievable
- Support audits and information requests by locating and providing documents as required
- Provide general administrative support to the team and wider business
- Support meeting administration (organising meetings, taking notes, issuing actions where required)
- Assist with data entry, reporting, and maintaining spreadsheets
- Manage inboxes, correspondence, and internal communications as required
- Help maintain office records, logs, and procedural documentation
Learning & Development:
- Undertake training in document control processes, systems, and company procedures
- Learn and apply basic information management and compliance principles
- Work under supervision and follow guidance from senior team members
- Continuously develop organisational, communication, and system skills
Qualifications/Experience:
- No prior document control experience required – training will be provided
- Some previous administrative or office experience is desirable but not essential
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths, or similar level of education
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Ability to follow processes and instructions
