The Materials Controller is responsible for overseeing the flow of materials and supplies to ensure the right items are available at the right time and place to support project or production needs. This role maintains inventory accuracy, minimizes waste, and ensures efficient material handling across the site or facility. This is a temporary, weekly‐paid, fully on‐site position.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Coordinate with procurement, suppliers, and site teams to schedule deliveries and manage lead times.
- Track and record all incoming and outgoing materials using inventory systems.
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of materials in line with safety and quality standards.
- Liaise with project managers and site supervisors to forecast material requirements.
- Identify and report any issues with material quality, shortages, or delays.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in material management and logistics.
- Maintain documentation for audits and compliance purposes.
- Assist in the disposal or return of surplus or defective materials.
Requirements
- Proven experience in material control, inventory management, or logistics.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with inventory software and ERP systems.
- Good communication and coordination abilities.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations related to material handling.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift or other relevant licenses (desirable).
Working Conditions
