Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the U.S. government, allies, and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking a Barber to support a unique U.S. Navy program based on the remote island of Diego Garcia.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide professional grooming services including cutting, trimming, tapering, and styling hair using clippers, scissors, razors, and related tools.
- Evaluate hair and scalp condition and recommend appropriate grooming techniques.
- Perform shaving, beard and mustache trimming, scalp treatments, and other grooming services.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace in accordance with industry and Navy standards.
- Recommend grooming products and support customer service needs.
- Manage equipment, maintain tools, and support morale and welfare initiatives for personnel stationed on the island.
Minimum Requirements
- 1–3 years of professional barbering experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
- Passport must be valid for at least one year beyond hire date.
- Ability to meet and maintain contract medical requirements for the duration of deployment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain country-specific visas in accordance with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide.
