Our Defence and Security provides design and engineering services for nuclear and defence clients across the UK and abroad. Our team is experiencing exciting growth and long-term prospects within our established practice (140+ Civil/Structural). We are looking for Structural Engineers with transferable skills who are passionate about developing themselves and meeting new challenges.
We offer hybrid working with 1‑2 days in the office and can accommodate any UK office. Occasional site visits may be required.
We are recruiting career‑minded individuals to support our multi‑discipline engineering delivery capability in the nuclear and defence industries. Projects range from developing solutions through all RIBA stages in highly regulated environments, supporting air, land and sea defence establishments, the UK nuclear submarine fleet, and both existing and new build nuclear power stations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in analysis and design of large industrial facilities (e.g., power station buildings, large manufacturing facilities, dockyards).
- Knowledge of seismic analysis and/or design.
- Knowledge of blast analysis.
- Knowledge of finite element analysis.
- Knowledge of soil‑structure interaction and good all‑round technical design expertise using British, American, international standards, and/or Eurocodes.
- Proven ability to manage projects and prepare project deliverables, including quality, budget, programme, and resources.
- Good understanding of structural theory with proven problem‑solving ability.
- Proven ability in preparation of bids and proposals, and building strong client relationships.
- Good, accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or similar.
- Ideally Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer, or working towards chartership (we can support you).
