About the Opportunity
Hinkley Point C (HPC) is the first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years. The project will deliver 3.26 GW of secure, low‑carbon electricity for 60 years and create thousands of jobs.
Role Description
The Quality Management Lead (QML) ensures that HPC project quality requirements are complied with across the full project life‑cycle. The QML reports to the Quality Delivery Manager and is responsible for reviewing, accepting and monitoring contractor quality assurance plans, coordinating supply‑chain audits, producing Project Quality Control Plans, and ensuring adherence to contractual quality arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, accept and monitor contractors’ Quality Assurance Plans (CQAPs).
- Identify supply‑chain audit needs and engage auditors to perform audits and resolve findings.
- Produce Project Quality Control Plans (PQCPs) for each contract.
- Ensure deployment of key quality contractual arrangements including the General Quality Assurance Specification (GQAS), Life‑Time Quality Records Specification, Quality Release Certificate and the Inspection & Test Plan Specification.
- Provide guidance to contractors on CQAPs, LTQR partitioning strategies and quality‑related activities.
- Lead the implementation of LTQR reviews and support progressive provision of LTQRs by contractors.
- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including inspection entities.
Education, Experience and Skills
- A HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
- Broad experience implementing a variety of quality‑related solutions.
- Proven track record of delivering results.
- Leadership experience in a quality assurance/control environment within the nuclear industry or another safety‑critical industry.
- Experience interacting with and resolving issues with diverse stakeholders in a multi‑cultural environment.
