Amentum are the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services. Our Nuclear team provides the front end design and engineering capability across the PPP portfolio. We are currently recruiting for a Lead EC&I Engineer to join the team in Birchwood. Responsibilities will include:
- Act as the Responsible Engineer on projects
- Lead project delivery teams across the project lifecycle from bid generation, through concept and detailed design development to installation and commissioning
- Own and manage project budgets
- Build and manage client relationships and leverage those relationships to deliver continued opportunities and new business leads
- Work on systems integration, testing and validation of systems
- Demonstrate knowledge of the practical aspects of implementing engineering designs and understand the use of standards and compliance with regulatory requirements in an engineering environment
- Produce high-quality technical reports
- Simplify complex problems and build and maintain valuable relationships

Requirements:
- MEng, MSc, BEng or BSc or equivalent in EC&I or another relevant discipline, chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body
- Previous team leadership, line management, technical lead or Responsible Engineer experience
- An awareness of civil nuclear plant systems, structures and components and associated design and assessment guidelines (or relevant engineering principles from other highly regulated industries)
- An understanding of the relevant guidelines, standards and practices (e.g., IEC 61508, 61511, 61513, 61226, ONR SAPs / TAGS)
- Knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system; including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning and maintenance of safety or process critical I&C Systems
- Knowledge of high integrity hardware or software-based control systems for industrial equipment
