We specialise in trend-led colour cosmetics and skincare, delivering both private label and branded products from concept through to finished goods. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we are seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Technologist to strengthen our regulatory function and support our growing international portfolio.
The role
As a Senior Regulatory Technologist, you will take a leading role within our regulatory team, ensuring full compliance of our products across multiple territories, including the UK, EU, USA, and South America. You will act as a subject matter expert, working cross-functionally with New Product Development (NPD), Laboratory, Packaging, and Commercial teams, while also liaising directly with external partners such as test houses, raw material suppliers, distributors, and regulatory authorities. This is a strategic, hands-on role requiring deep technical expertise, strong leadership capability, and the confidence to guide regulatory decision-making across the business.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and oversee global regulatory compliance processes for cosmetics across UK, EU, USA, and South America markets
- Interpret and apply cosmetic legislation, providing clear regulatory guidance to internal stakeholders
- Review raw materials and formulations for compliance with regional legislation and ethical claims (cruelty-free, vegan, sustainability, plastic reduction)
- Compile, review, and approve Product Information Files (PIFs) and Technical Files to meet market-specific requirements
- Manage submissions and notifications
- Act as primary point of contact for regulatory authorities, distributors, and key retail customers on compliance matters
- Liaise with test houses and toxicologists to ensure timely safety assessments and substantiation of claims
- Support and guide product launches, ensuring regulatory approvals and documentation are completed within critical path timelines
- Mentor and support junior regulatory team members
- Monitor regulatory updates and proactively communicate legislative changes to the wider business
- Manage and maintain regulatory IT system for allocated portfolio
Who you are
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum 4–6 years’ regulatory experience within the cosmetics or personal care industry
- Strong working knowledge of UK Cosmetics Regulation, EU Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009, US cosmetic legislation, Middle East, ANZ and relevant South American frameworks
- Proven expertise in compiling and reviewing Product Information Files (PIFs)
- Experience managing retailer compliance standards and global submissions
- Confident interpreting legislation and providing pragmatic commercial guidance
- Passionate about sustainability, ethical sourcing, and responsible innovation
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Proactive, solution-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
Professional certifications such as completion of the SCS Diploma are advantageous.
