This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Import Merchandiser to step into a pivotal role, managing high-volume accounts and overseeing the end-to-end critical path for complex product ranges. As a key point of contact for internal teams and global suppliers, you’ll lead the coordination of all merchandising activities to ensure exceptional service levels and on-time delivery to major Blue-Chip retailers. This is a high-impact role suited to a commercially aware merchandiser with strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the critical path, managing timelines from product development through to final delivery.
- Act as the main liaison between key retailers and the business, ensuring their expectations are exceeded through proactive communication and delivery excellence.
- Lead cross-functional coordination between internal departments including Design, NPD, Sales, Shipping, and Quality.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas factories to ensure consistent production flow and timely updates.
- Review and approve purchase orders, customer order details, packaging, and labelling.
- Monitor and mitigate risks to delivery schedules, implementing contingency plans where needed.
- Support and mentor junior merchandisers, sharing best practices and fostering professional development.
- Analyse and report on merchandising KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with New Product Development to support the introduction of new ranges, ensuring a seamless integration into the supply chain.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior or lead merchandising role, ideally within the FMCG or retail supply sector.
- Extensive experience managing critical paths, international supply chains, and large retail accounts.
- Excellent commercial awareness with the ability to anticipate and solve problems quickly.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- A collaborative leader who can influence cross-functional teams and build supplier partnerships.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with merchandising systems is a plus.
