We are excited to offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced New Product Developer to join our fast-growing, innovative cosmetics and skincare company based in the heart of Knutsford, Cheshire. We supply both private label and branded products to leading retailers worldwide, and this role plays a key part in driving new product innovation from concept through to launch.

This position is ideal for a confident NPD professional with proven experience in cosmetics development who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will take ownership of projects, influence product direction, and work cross-functionally to deliver commercially successful, on-trend beauty products.

  • Lead the end-to-end development of new cosmetic and skincare products, from initial concept through to final approval.
  • Work closely with the Graphics team to brief, prioritize, and deliver artwork and packaging in line with customer requirements and timelines.
  • Drive cosmetic colour development, creating and refining ranges based on seasonal trends, customer briefs, and market insight.
  • Manage cosmetic and component sampling, proactively resolving issues and ensuring products meet quality, performance, and aesthetic standards.
  • Review and evaluate product samples, ensuring all packaging and formulations meet sensory expectations and are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure all new products meet customer briefs, commercial targets, and regulatory requirements, working closely with the technical team.
  • Coordinate product development activities with UK-based teams and overseas suppliers, particularly the China team.
  • Play an active role in design briefings involving NPD, Technical, Merchandising, and Graphics teams.
  • Act as a key point of contact for the China team, resolving queries and ensuring clear, timely communication throughout development.
  • Support project planning and provide cover for Project Management responsibilities during team holidays when required.

Proven experience in New Product Development within cosmetics, skincare, or a related beauty category is essential. A strong understanding of cosmetic products, packaging, and current industry trends is required. The demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines is crucial. You should be comfortable working cross-functionally with NPD, Graphics, Technical, Merchandising, and international teams. A proactive, collaborative, and adaptable approach, with strong IT skills, including MS Office and project management tools, is necessary.
