Amelia Knight Limited is a dynamic and growing international business operating across multiple manufacturing sites in the UK and overseas. We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Management Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our costing and inventory processes.
This is a multi-site position split between our UK offices in Knutsford and our UK manufacturing site in Stoke-on-Trent. Working closely with internal stakeholders in the business, the role will have ownership and responsibility for the accuracy of the Monthly Management accounts and year-end accounts within the ERP system. Also reporting and investigating variances declared, ensuring accuracy on stock valuation for raw material, WIP and Finished goods ensuring adequate provisioning is made on slow moving, obsolete stock. This is a highly visible role requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the confidence to influence and drive improvements across the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare monthly management accounts to the prescribed internal format on a timely basis as dictated by the monthly reporting timetable.
- Provide analytical reviews and commentary on month end performances, explaining deviations from budget and forecast where applicable.
- Ensure Intercompany balances are reconciled monthly between group companies.
- Work closely with departmental managers to monitor and control monthly / YTD overhead costs, calculating latest forecast of costs.
- Provide support at year-end to the annual audit process liaising with external auditors as required.
- Reconcile stock ledgers to the balance sheet inventories, investigating any variances between report and ledger.
- Maintain the standard costing system for all bill of materials including unit costs for raw materials, labour rates and overhead rates.
- Prepare monthly report on variances covering PPV, usage, routing, labour etc.
- Investigate and implement corrective actions on reported variances to maintain accuracy of stock transactions.
- Provide support on cycle stock takes undertaken at UK sites, auditing counts, valuing stock adjustments and coordinating approved adjustments through stock.
- Calculate monthly profit in stock adjustment.
- Prepare monthly postings for E-comms transactions.
- Any other duties as requested by senior management team.
- In-depth understanding of enterprise resource planning (ERP), Sage X3 desirable.
- In-depth understanding of the industry and product supply chain.
- Experience of cost accounting.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent numeracy skills and computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrable organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to quickly interpret facts and compare data.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

- Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.
- Clean driving licence.
