Northcroft School is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic and imaginative classroom practitioner to join our new and developing Design and Technology Department. The Design and Technology Department will be a dynamic and successful department that is passionate about their subject and works collaboratively to deliver Design and Technology in a stimulating and engaging way.

Students in Year 7, 8, and 9 receive two hours of Design Technology teaching per 10-day cycle and follow the current National Curriculum. Classes will have up to three projects during the course of the year which will introduce them to a wide variety of materials and production methods, while evidencing the students' building knowledge and skills throughout their academic journey. At Key Stage 4, students follow the AQA specification and receive 6 lessons in a 10-day cycle. All students get the opportunity to strengthen or broaden their knowledge of Design and Technology while creating cross-curricular links with Geography, History, Maths, and Science. For students with low-level attainment, standalone certifications will be catered for.

Northcroft School works in conjunction with its Alternative provision which broadens facilities available. The school currently has developing D&T facilities and a newly refurbished computer room. At Northcroft School, you may work with a variety of Special Needs, ranging from learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions such as autism, social, emotional, and mental health needs, or a combination of these difficulties. A full training individual package will be created alongside the successful candidate to ensure they are supported and equipped with the knowledge and skills needed.
