Overview
Job Title: Evening Support Worker – Supported Accommodation
Location: Thatcham, West Berkshire
Working Hours: 5pm – 10pm (4 nights per week to include weekends and sleep ins – £40 per weekday and £45 per weekend).
Start date: As soon as possible, subject to checks
Amegreen Children’s Services was founded in 2013 and specialize in therapeutic residential children’s care. We currently have a community of beautiful homes set in rural West Berkshire where we offer a warm welcome to vulnerable children and young people.
As an Evening Support Worker, you’ll be supporting young people from the ages of 16 – 25 with practical, emotional and social skills and develop their independence. Situated in a quiet neighbourhood in West Berkshire, the home provides quality accommodation for young people developing their independence skills in readiness for adulthood, supported by a dedicated and skilled team.
Our young people are guided to understand and access all their health needs, including specialist services, such as mental health, alongside support to access and maintain education, training and employment.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out day to day support, including tasks around the home such as cooking, cleaning, gardening, going out with the young people, taking part in activities, alongside offering emotional support.
- Maintain a high quality of support which meets the emotional, physical, practical and social needs of service users.
- Record day to day case notes in line with policies and procedures. Ensure all appropriate records regarding the service users are kept up to date and securely managed and filed.
- Advocate for positive outcomes for young people.
Requirements
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
- Experience working with young people or children
- Be able to work alone and self-motivate
- Ability to understand the needs of vulnerable young people
- Have empathy and compassion in dealing with people that are in a crisis
- Experience of using office IT and able to communicate clearly, both verbally and written for accurate reports and records
