As part of our continued investment in the business, and our strategy to grow the UK HoReCa / Food Service channel, we are looking to strengthen our sales team with a Business Development Manager.
The Role: Based ideally in the Midlands, this role is focused on managing strategic distributors, working closely with their management, sales, and buying teams to create demand, drive specification, and pull business through the Foodservice channel. You will act as the key link with distributor partners, aligning on joint business plans, supporting field execution, and ensuring all opportunities are fully leveraged.
A strong knowledge of the end-user marketplace is important to build a robust pipeline and ensure distributor activity is effectively targeted. Reporting to the Managing Director, your success will be measured by sales growth delivered through strong distributor partnerships and effective end-user engagement. You will manage your own accounts, lead commercial negotiations, and contribute to category, range, and new product initiatives.
You will also work closely with the wider Amefa team, collaborating on joint market strategies, building internal relationships, and ensuring the business has strong visibility across both distributor and end-user customers.
The ideal candidate will have Foodservice sales experience, a hands-on, proactive approach, and the confidence to build relationships, influence outcomes, and deliver results in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Energetic and passionate, with a genuine interest in quality, trend-led brands.
- Proven experience within the Food Service sector, with a track record of delivering results.
- Confident IT user with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
- A positive, confident and engaging individual who brings energy and enthusiasm to everything they do.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism, discretion and strong relationship management at all levels.
The role is field based.
