Your Role as a Registered Manager (Children’s Services)

As a Registered Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading your service and ensuring exceptional outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to deliver a calm, supportive environment that promotes development and wellbeing
  • Ensure children experience positive opportunities to build confidence and life skills
  • Create a culture where each child’s needs are recognised and met
  • Deliver a consistent child-centred approach
  • Drive service performance and maintain high standards of care
  • Develop, implement, and review individual care plans
  • Conduct staff supervision, appraisals, and performance management
  • Mentor and guide staff to deliver high-quality, therapeutic care
  • Support staff development and continuous improvement
  • Ensure full compliance with legislation, policies, and Ofsted requirements

Requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Childcare
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or willingness to work towards)
  • At least two years’ experience in a residential childcare setting
  • Strong knowledge of legislation, Ofsted standards, and regulations
  • Experience completing risk assessments and producing clear reports
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
  • Passion for supporting young people with complex needs
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive, flexible approach with a focus on outcomes
