We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead forward-deployed Generative AI programs with AMD’s most strategic customers. This is a customer-facing technical leadership role that sits at the intersection of frontier AI research, production-grade GenAI systems, and large-scale GPU deployments. In this role, you will partner closely with forward-deployed engineers (FDEs), internal engineering teams, and customer stakeholders to ensure that state-of-the-art open-source and closed-source GenAI models text-to-text and multimodal run performantly, scalably, and cost-effectively on AMD GPU platforms. You will act as the single-threaded owner for complex GenAI performance and enablement programs, translating customer needs into executable technical roadmaps while driving outcomes that directly impact customer success, platform adoption, and GPU scale-out. This role supports global customers and teams and may require occasional work outside standard local hours, balanced with flexibility and autonomy in how work is scheduled.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of forward-deployed GenAI programs with AMD’s most strategic customers, from onboarding through production readiness and large-scale GPU deployment.
- Act as the single-threaded technical program owner for GenAI performance, scalability, and enablement initiatives, driving outcomes across software frameworks, model architectures, and AMD GPU platforms.
- Lead GenAI performance optimization efforts focused on latency, throughput, concurrency, and cost efficiency for interactive and real-time workloads (e.g., chat, agents, reasoning systems).
- Work deeply with inference and training frameworks (e.g., vLLM, SGLang, emerging GenAI stacks), partnering with engineering teams to drive model and framework-level optimizations upstream.
- Translate customer requirements into executable technical roadmaps, defining clear milestones, dependencies, risks, and success metrics tied to measurable performance impact.
- Serve as the primary technical program interface between customers and AMD engineering, product, and business teams, ensuring alignment and momentum across fast-moving, cross-functional environments.
- Communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and program health with clarity and credibility to senior engineers, customer executives, and AMD leadership.
- Feed learnings from customer engagements back into product and engineering roadmaps, influencing platform direction and accelerating GenAI adoption at scale.
Preferred Experience
- 10+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager leading complex, cross-functional programs, with significant exposure to ML, AI, or Generative AI systems.
- Proven experience owning medium-to-large scale AI programs with multiple stakeholders and complex technical dependencies.
- Strong hands-on understanding of GenAI inference and performance optimization, including latency, throughput, concurrency, and cost-efficiency trade-offs.
- Experience working at the framework and system level, with exposure to modern GenAI stacks such as PyTorch, inference servers, and serving frameworks (e.g., vLLM, SGLang, or similar).
- Ability to reason across the full GenAI stack from model architecture to framework behavior to GPU-accelerated infrastructure and translate that understanding into execution plans.
- Strong technical communication skills, with experience engaging senior engineers, customer executives, and internal leadership on technical trade-offs and program status.
- Experience operating in fast-moving, ambiguous global environments, balancing speed, quality, and scale while maintaining execution rigor.
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor’s or Master’s or PhD degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
