Overview

As Operations Manager at Winterbourne, you will lead Production and Maintenance within the Plant Leadership Team to drive excellence and safety. You’ll align site objectives with customer requirements, oversee budgeting and capacity planning, and push continuous improvement across operations. You’ll foster a strong safety culture, ensure policy compliance, and manage change initiatives that enhance manufacturing capability. This role offers the chance to shape plant performance and collaborate across functions to deliver reliable, quality packaging outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver production volumes and capex/ budget targets
  • Define and manage organisational processes, headcount, shifts and activities per policy and budget
  • Ensure timely production planning and capacity optimization to meet demand
  • Define and verify KPIs to control process performance
  • Support working capital optimization by reducing inventory
  • Drive continuous improvement plans across site operations
  • Promote Amcor values within the plant
  • Enhance team performance, knowledge, and leadership
  • Maintain collaboration, motivation, and engagement
  • Active involvement in safety programs and achieving safety goals
  • Coordinate application of the HSE System
  • Develop safety procedures and train workers on safety issues
  • Support ISO 14001 and ISO 13485 activities
  • Adhere to hygiene rules for product quality
  • Maintain strong knowledge of quality standards and data integrity
  • Avoid compromising product quality through hygiene and safety practices

Key requirements

  • Senior Operations Management experience in a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience in packaging is advantageous but not required
  • Proven track record managing significant change/transformation projects in manufacturing
  • First-hand experience with Lean and continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.)
  • Degree in a Science, Technology or Engineering subject preferred
  • Proactive and positive leadership
