We are looking for motivated individuals who are passionate about improvement, proactive problem-solving, and shaping the future of Engineering within our site. You will join our Engineering team and will play a key role in maintaining and developing our plant and equipment to the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. You will be supported by the Engineering shift and day teams and will report to the Engineering Manager. This is a dayshift/nightshift role comprising of seven 12 hour shifts per fortnight which are worked 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7am including alternate weekends.
Key Job AccountabilitiesAs part of the Engineering team, you'll be responsible for:
- Ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Performing routine and preventive maintenance with the assistance of the wider Engineering team, delivering high standards of asset care for machines.
- Fault finding and diagnostics in reactive breakdown or planned situations.
- Ensuring all unplanned maintenance issues or breakdowns are dealt with promptly and efficiently whilst ensuring that PPM schedules are maintained.
- Participating in incident investigations to identify root causes.
- Maintaining accurate records of maintenance and repairs for the machines.
- Reviewing and helping maintain records of obsolescence of parts within the department so future plans can be formed to prolong the machine life.
- Collaborating with other trades to ensure completion of tasks.
- Working closely with Production Operators and acting on feedback to resolve reoccurring issues.
You must have completed an apprenticeship in an electrical discipline and have an HNC in Electrical Engineering. A strong background in electrical engineering in a production maintenance environment is essential for this role. Multi-skilled engineering experience is desirable. Good communication and teamwork skills. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Ability to self-manage multiple priorities and work under pressure. Strong focus on quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Strong root cause analysis and troubleshooting skills. Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics to guide decisions. Ability to analyse system failures and implement long-term corrective actions. Good IT skills.
