What Youll Do

  • As EHS Manager your key focus will be to ensure the site operates in accordance with UK legislation, industry best practice and company policy.
  • Acting as EHS Champion, and working closely with the site leadership team, you will promote, implement and oversee all aspects of safety, health and environmental compliance to support the companys strategic objectives whilst at the same time, fostering a culture of safety first and continuous improvement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with senior leadership team to ensure EHS compliance.
  • Championing a safety first culture through engagement and visible leadership.
  • Leading EHS audits and site inspections, identifying non-conformances and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant EHS legislation.
  • Liaising effectively with regulatory authorities such as Environment Agency and HSE.
  • Developing, implementing and updating EHS policies and procedures.
  • Driving EHS training and communication. Delivering training workshops and tool box talks.
  • Leading incident investigation, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventative actions.
  • Reporting accidents and near miss incidents, driving to close-out with root cause identified.
  • Managing and continuously improving accreditation standards (ISO 14001, ISO45001, RecyClass).
  • Establishing a comprehensive programme of safety audits, site/Gemba walks, risk assessments and developing the emergency business continuity plans.
  • Providing EHS input/support with key site projects.
  • Reporting on EHS initiatives; identifying exposures and opportunities as required.
  • Monitoring and reporting of site EHS KPIs.
  • Leading H&S Meetings, the election of representative and management of actions arising.
  • The site lead at corporate EHS meetings, interpreting and implementing corporate initiatives.
  • Continuous development of the EHS team (skills attainment and competence).

What youll bring

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification).
  • Manufacturing, recycling or waste management background with proven experience.
  • ISOH Managing Safely qualification.
  • ISO Lead Auditor qualification and experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of COSHH, PUWER, LOLR, CDM and environmental regulations.
  • Valid current UK driving licence.

What will make you stand out

  • Waste water/utilities experience.
  • WAMITAB / COTC or equivalent experience.
  • ISO compliance experience.
  • IOSH Chartered membership.
